Materials required:

  • 1 x 50 cm x 50 cm cushion inner, poly filled or feather (which ever you prefer).
  • 55 cm length of 140 cm wide fabric – However if the fabric is only 112 cm wide then please buy 100 cm of fabric. (If you wish to use a different fabric for each side, you will need to buy 55 cm lengths of each fabric).
  • 50 cm of iron-on vilene (fusing or otherwise known as iron-on inter facing, fusing or vilene).
  • 3 to 5 buttons to use to close up the cushion cover as you will be learning to make button holes.
  • Thread to match your fabric for the button holes specifically - My preference is Gutermann – sew all 100% polyester thread.

  • If the fabric is 112 cm wide you will need to buy 130 cm of fabric to make 1 bag.
  • If the fabric is 140 cm wide you will need to buy 70 cm of fabric to make 1 bag.
  • 240 cm of 2.5 cm wide cotton webbing OR acrylic OR polyester webbing.
  • Thread to match your fabric - My preference is Gutermann – sew all 100% polyester thread.

  • 50 cm of cotton fabric - fat quarters work well for this and you will need 3 x fat quarters for the top layer of the hot water bottle.
  • 50 cm of 100 % cotton fabric for lining.
  • 50 cm of wadding - 8 or 6 ounce thickness.
  • 1 x large button.
  • Thread to match your fabric - My preference is Gutermann – sew all 100% polyester thread.
  • 1 x hot water bottle for the inside – Standard UK size works well.

  • 40 cm of wadding or thermal insulation fabric.
  • 40 cm of 112 cm or 140 cm wide plain cotton fabric for the lining of the glove.
  • 40 cm of 2.5 cm wide bias binding or 80 cm for 2 x gloves.

Welcome to my ever-growing collection of PDF sewing patterns.

PDF Sewing patterns can be instantly downloaded and printed on a domestic home printer on normal A4 paper and then assembled together with Pritt Stick or sellotape. It’s really easy!

Step-by-step sewing instructions are also supplied as a separate PDF file and you can print this off if you like or just read it from your laptop, or computer.

PDF patterns can be opened using Adobe Reader which is usually installed on all computers. You can download the latest version for free here.

Files are downloaded as a Zip file which once saved to your desktop can be opened and contains the PDF Pattern and Sewing Instructions.

Yes. you can print it on your normal domestic home printer using standard A4 paper.

When you select print, make sure that the scale is set correctly. Make sure that you select ‘Actual size’ in your printing size options. If ‘fit to page’ is selected, make sure this is unticked. This will ensure that all the pattern pieces will be printed out at the correct scale.

To save time and using the dotted or solid line guides, just cut off the right hand side and bottom edge of each page of the PDF pattern. This will make the pages easier to stick together.

Match up the pages using the numbers and letters on the margins. eg: 1a with 1a, 2b with 2b...etc.
